UPDATE 9/6/2023: Kourtney Kardashian speaks out for the first time since photos showed her and her husband Travis leaving a local California hospital.
On September 6, Kourtney shared a photo on Instagram that captured Travis holding her hand while she was in a hospital bed. In her post, she disclosed that she had undergone emergency fetal surgery to safeguard her baby’s life. Kourtney expressed her eternal gratitude to her remarkable doctors for their role in saving her baby.
“I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this. As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
Kourtney wrapped up her statement with these words, “Praise be to God. Leaving the hospital with my baby boy still safe in my tummy was the most profound blessing.”
While neither Kourtney nor Travis have publicly addressed this family emergency, a source has shared with People magazine that Kourtney is “now back home with her children” and added, “She’s improving and is delighted to have Travis back home as well.”
On Friday, September 1, fans of Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian were sent into a state of concern when Travis had to postpone several Blink-182 tour dates in the United Kingdom due to what was described as an “urgent family matter.” The nature of this family emergency remained undisclosed, and details have yet to be revealed.
The news came to light during the early hours of the morning as Barker swiftly traveled from Glasgow, Scotland, to Los Angeles to be with his wife. On Saturday, September 2, new photos captured the couple leaving a medical center in the LA area. Both of them appeared solemn as they headed toward a black SUV.

The images depicted Kourtney dressed in a gray long-sleeved shirt paired with matching grey pants and grey New Balance shoes. It was evident that she was still in the later stages of her pregnancy, with her due date expected between October and December. Notably, she was walking unassisted, which stands as one positive aspect amid this challenging situation.
Concern among fans escalated when Travis Barker shared three photos from his visit to a prayer room within the Glasgow Airport on Friday night, all without providing any context. The photos included images of the prayer room’s entrance, a stained glass monument, and a ‘Together We Pray’ flag displayed inside the room.
During the same period, Blink-182, Travis Barker’s renowned band, announced the postponement of four tour dates in the UK region. These shows were originally scheduled to take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on September 1 and 2, the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on September 4, and the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on September 4.
The band shared on their official social media accounts, “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information regarding his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as it becomes available.”
When news of the ‘urgent family matter’ began circulating widely, many people made the connection to Kourtney’s pregnancy. In truth, there was a collective hope that both she and the baby were in good health. Although the specifics of the emergency remain unclear, it’s reassuring to see the couple leaving the hospital under their own power.
When Blink-182 made the decision to postpone those four shows on Saturday, it became evident that the situation was indeed serious. Shanna Moakler, Travis Barker’s ex-wife, didn’t have specific details to offer when she spoke to photographers in Los Angeles on Friday. However, she did express her concern and mentioned that she was keeping them in her thoughts and prayers.

“I’m not privy to the details of the situation, but what matters most to me is that our children are safe and well — that’s my top priority,” she conveyed to the photographers. “Naturally, when they have to cancel shows, it’s a significant matter. My thoughts and prayers are with Travis’s immediate family, the baby, Kourtney, and everyone involved. I hope they are all safe and in good health.”
Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler began their relationship in 2002, became engaged at Disneyland in 2003, and exchanged vows on October 30, 2004. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in separation in 2006, and they officially divorced in 2008. Together, they have three children: Landon, aged 19, Alabama, aged 17, and Atiana, aged 24 (Travis’ stepdaughter).
In 2021, Travis Barker embarked on a romantic journey with Kourtney Kardashian. They became engaged later that year and, while their unofficial union took place in March 2023, they formally tied the knot in May. Kourtney, who has three children from her previous relationship with Scott Disick, is currently expecting her first child with Travis.
